Title: Debating going to jibfit to get the A/C gassed...
Post by: PaulW on 20 July 2008, 14:24:20
It's never worked since I got the car, the previous previous owner bought a new condensor and dryer for the front (I say new, it was 2nd hand) and well, its been in the elements so thats goosed, so going to leave the old one on the car...

Just want to know where it stands, how long it holds its charge for, if they can pick up any leaks, etc...

Rather pay the £45 or so to do that than waist £££'s replacing more bits  to find out the compressor is goosed aswell!

Reckon its worth doing??

Just had it done...

System was completely empty, no oil or anything in it at all in it...  They gassed it and leak tested it.

Drained and vac'd for 20mins
0000g of oil and refrigerant were removed during...

100g oil and 950g of refrigerant went in it.
No leaks detected once filled

Car is now as cool as ice  8-)

don't worry I'm going to.

Hopefully it will last enough for this week so I can go nottingham tomorrow, and keswick on Wednesday in some sort of comfort! ;D

My brothers got some audition thing going on, so I'm driving him over as his car is goosed.  Not 100% sure where abouts the place is though!

Leave here about 5pm, get there about 7:30-ish I reckon..

Same route I'd be going

Just given the time, I was expecting some amount of traffic slowing me down...

About 2 hours from here.

Need to get my aircon regassed, it aint as cold as it used to be, and my fans seem to be working overtime to try and make up for it.

it's weird in mine now, the fans used to blow your head off, there now just a gentle breeze!  So much better :)
