Anyone breaking a v6 mfl? I'm in need of a working Lambda sensor (NS if it makes any difference)
Got the EML coming on when it gets hot and when i plug it in tells me the lambda is at fault.
TIA. :y

What is it actually telling you?
More likely an issue upstream that causes the lambda to read bad values....Such as an air leak.

Sorry Jimbob cant just remember what code it was giving me as its a few weeks since i checked it. I'm doing some work on it over the weekend so i'll plug it in again and let you know the code.

Hi Jimbob got the code 0089 heater circuit - voltage low, open circuit sensor 2

Unplug it an measure it cold, heater cct should be low Ohms, or if going to take the sensor out anyway, swap it with the other bank, does the fault move?
could be be a simple connector problem, or bad earth, from memory MFL are 3 wire which heater shares the same earth return as the 0v Lambda return.

Ive actually the same code on a later car going on...
should be able to plug bank 1 into bank 2 sensor and vice versa....see if fault moves, or stays with same bank...

I've got another lambda to fit which i know is fine. I'm taking it for MOT tomorrow so needed to get it sorted. Fitting it in the morning and will give it a blast before i go to make sure the faults cleared. I had wondered if it was contamination in the connector, especially with all the flooding we've had lately. Shouldn't really get water in the plug but you never know with the age of the wiring/car.
I'll report back tomorrow and let you know how it goes guys. :y

As promised update on the problem.
Swapped the lambda out and bingo EML stayed off. More than that went through the MOT with just an advisor on both TRE boots perishing and starting to split. Well happy with that. ;D
