OK so yesterday I fitted the refurbed wheels and new tyres and put the poly rear donuts in, as I put the Elite on the drive to do the above I could see a damp area on the road and a line where I had moved the car onto the drive. Looking under the car with the engine running I could see coolant running from the back of the engine.
Today I have removed the inlet manifold and black plate to find coolant along the valley between the heads.
So I now need to do a pressure test to find out if it's the oil cooler seal/joint. Which is the best way to fit an air valve to the spare expansion cap I have :-\ :'(
I have a new oil cooler kit here, so what are the other items I will need to do the cooler change, in the kit I have the cooler, cover plate two nuts and two o rings, as the coolant bridge will need to come out to do this job, what seals do I need and part number if any one has them :y and the number for the correct sealant :y

I've never bothered with an air valve.
I leave the coolant cap on. Block off the hose that goes from the rear and runs along the 246 bank. Then using a 12volt halfords tyre inflator, with the pointy adaptor for blowing up inflatable toys, inflate the other hose
Often blocking the 2 small hoses and simply blowing hard into the bottle can be enough to identify a leak source :y

Just been out to the stealers to order the correct washers and seals for coolant bridge, I have the grey sealant ( there is only one type I hope) :y

After putting the new cooler in and all topped up 36 hours later I have been using the car for a few days. Got in it tonight to come home from work and have a low coolant level warning. Looks like its back to taking inlet manifold off again in the morning for me. :-\ :'(

After refilling cooling system did you bleed it "burping" the hoses?and heaters set to highest temp while engine got up to temp as it could just be coolant level settling out,especially if no further evidence of leak.

Did pressure test up to 10 psi no leaks on cold engine, there was coolant leak signs in the middle of the heads, oil cooler change and old cooler had next to no sealant around it. Now have another coolant leak dropping down at rear of engine. Will remove inlet manifold in the morning and find out if coolant in and around oil cooler again. Yes I did a bleed on the engine after refill last time

Inlet manifold off again this morning and oil cooler area is dry, so checked around and it looks like the HBV has failed again. That's twice in 18 months both replaced with dealer parts. Third time lucky this week then when dealers open again
Think I'll buy two this time and keep one as a spare :-\

New HBV in this afternoon, all up to temp and seems OK :-\ time will tell
