Title: One Way Car Hire (UK)
Post by: Broomies Mate on 16 April 2016, 00:55:27
I'm due to start a new job next month. (5th May)

The offices are in Portsmouth and I am in Bristol.  The company would like me to get a train to Portsmouth where I'll be met by a colleague who'll take me to the office where I'll pick up my new van.

I bloody hate trains, or any public transport for that matter, so I've asked if I can get one-way car hire instead.  I've been told that is fine if it's not cost prohibitive.

I do not want a stupid little car to drive there (yes, I know it's only a couple of hours), so Astra/Focus and above only.

So, who's best to use?  Enterprise are coming in at around £70 for a pick-up in Bristol and drop-off in Portsmouth.  I'll be picked up from the Rent-A-Car office.

A train ticket is near £70 anyway.

Obviously, this will only be a 1 day (or a few hours) hire, and I'd be happy to fund the fuel if necessary (saves sitting on a stinking train)!

TIA!  :y

;D If only that were true.... I just have a terrible fear of Trains and a Bus makes me puke.  Call it an irrational fear if you like.  I'm not a great passenger in a car either.

On your second point; Thank You.  It will hopefully be enjoyable.  :y
