As above. Size 225/55/16
I've been informed I can get these silly cheap from tyre supplier.
I have 4 new tyres on at the moment but they are budget shite and if I'm honest the noise of them is getting on my wick. They're BCT S600's if anyone is interested. The noise is as if I have bad wheel bearings! I've checked. And the bearings are good. And I've read online other people complaining about the same noise.
Anyway. So these Rainsports. Discuss.
Ps got a lad at work who says they're excellent but he has a hot hatch. Wondered if this will be the case on the boat like omega
-
They're excellent on my Smart Roadster, can't fault them & can't make them break away, even in the wet .... but it's half the weight of an Omega
-
Cheers Andy. What's the noise like? Presumably quiet?

When your bum is only inches from the floor a Smart Roadster isn't exactly quiet anyway ;) ;)
-
;D good point mate lol
-
Best person to ask is DrAndyB as he has them on his Omega.
It's a tyre I've been considering as well for when we get nearer the autumn.
-
For a comparable weight of car (albeit quicker and other wheel drive), I had them on my last 9-5 aero. Worked very well. Can highly recommend them. :y
-
Cheers guys. Think I've made my mind up already.....

I once put a pair of Kumhos (no idea now which) on the front of my Senator and IMHO they were terrible

That must have been many moons ago? Maybe changed since then :-\
I've had them on the 2.2 since 2012, super happy with them. Got them on both of them now.
-
You wont go wrong with Uniroyals they are good hard wearing tyres with brilliant grip.

Have them on the rear of the estate now. Again good tyres for the money.

I hear they wear out at an alarming rate.

Is this when people thrash them though? They'll have an easy life with me. But nice to know the grips there in emergencies

Can't say that I noticed, then again, everything wore fast on the front of the 9-5. In fact it wasn't until owning the omega that I realised "front tyre worn close to the legal limit" wasn't pre-printed on every MOT certificate ;D

Apart from wear the tyre seems to be well liked. :y

No doubt this sort of experience informs many of our purchasing decisions. Back in the day I put two Dunlop tyres on the front of a Mk1 Consul, one split down the tread centre 2 miles down the road. Dunlop refused to admit that it was faulty. I have never bought another Dunlop tyre.(Are they still made? ??? ??? ???)
-
Yes, although they're 75% owned by Goodyear.

Thing is, they are designed to perform well in wet weather, the side effect of that is that they will wear quicker in the dry.
