Here we go.
from experience place an advert in the local paper were they were last known resident, programmes like long lost family, make it look easy, pah poppy cock, we did all of the mentioned ways, and the news paper advert did in a week what had taken us months :).
Good luck with your searching, hope it goes how you want it to end, it is a very trying and emotional trail, and can turn up things you didn't know exist, and there's lots of smiles and tears, so be prepared. :y

Most areas have facebook social groups e.g. "little heckingbottom community page" so if you know roughly where she lived try joining them and putting up a little post . I have seen plenty of such requests appear on my local ones with many successes. Also try linkedin

Also she may have ha a Name change through being Married which can throw you off course. So 'Registration of Births Deaths & Marriages' or what ever there called these days.

There's also the chance that she doesn't want to be found ::)

Many thanks for the advice so far, will pass it on to my mate.
Tried a lot of the social media sites, as his daughter is 27ish then there is a good chance she is married.
Good idea regards the local paper advert. :y
Also I suggested signing up with sheffield forum which is where the family where born and brought up.
