If it's only aux belt, you just need new pulley and belt, £50 the pair. Only snag is you can't drive the car home.

Yes but which pulley that's the hard part

probably the plastic tensioner pulley, as that's the usual failure on serpentine belt systems. A new one costs a tenner.

If it isn't that then it will be a seized AC compressor(or knackered clutch) or the water pump which will also be leaking like a politician.

It's a gamble I am taking as the belt snapped it took out a few sensors and coolant pipes so I am kinda in 2 minds  :-\

With the belt off, it should be obvious which pulley caused it to snap... strong money is the tensioner pulley... but spin them all and see if any are rough/seized and go from there... wiring is easily repaired and coolant hoses easily replaced, so shouldn't take too much effort to keep it going ;)

If it took out pipes and wiring then it may have got into the cambelt as well and caused that to jump some teeth  :-\

Not wishing to be pessimistic but I was thinking exact same thing.

What's it going for? could be a worth while buy either as a daily or as a donor car.

Bought a Vectra years ago with a snapped timing belt (Water pump froze solid due to ne anti-freeze) new belt, three second hand cam followers and could have sold it half a dozen times.

Well I need another car looking to replace my 20 year old mondeo so was looking at another omega but I hear the mv6 dose have tyre wear issues so it could be costly in the long run but I use it alternative with my omega Cd 2.6 v6 so it could not be to bad unless I am wrong  ;)

Must admit don't recall any tyre wear issues specific to the MV6 over any other spec of Omega. As with them all worn suspension components-bushes etc- being replaced and proper geometry set up are key to tyre life.Although I believe TB can kill tyres in short order regardless :D ;D ;D

All Omega Bs have adjustable front camber. Very few places that do '4 wheel alignment' have any idea how to set it correctly.

Set the camber correctly and you won't have any special tyre wear issues. :y

EDIT ***Unless you lower the rear suspension because that can upset the rear camber
