Title: 2.5TD Codes
Post by: Shackeng on 23 April 2016, 17:24:41
I paperclipped the TD, as, at low speeds, I very occasionally get a surge of revs (without an increase in speed). Codes are:
12, not listed,
64, Fuel quantity control out of range.

Although I would imagine 64 might be normal with engine off.

Any ideas? :y

I know there is not much interest in TD's here, but I hope someone knows what these codes mean. :-\ :y

12, not listed,  Start of codes, nowt to concern yourself with Chris
64, Fuel quantity control out of range. This is the fuel temperature sensor within the injection pump. Try a new fuel filter and some "diesel magic"

The 64 is normally the "wipers" inside the pump. Most TDs have this code with no symptoms (and being BMW, the EML will never come on).

But as a starter for 10, RobG's advice of diesel magic in fuel filter is sound :y

Cheers guys, I've got some on the shelf so will try that. However while thinking about the rev rise with no change in speed, the ATF is due a change at 130k, so I will also do that and a box filter clean. :y :y :y

You got an AR35 in there?  Can't remember if you got it changed from AR25...

If it is still an AR25, if you're getting slip in the box, don't waste money on ATF and filters... ;)
