Title: Urgent help needed! Gearbox soliniod
Post by: Dan282 on 23 April 2016, 18:20:50
Hi all. I'm currently trying to change the 2-3 soloniod. Does it does unclip from the wire and pull out or do u have to do anything else? Currently have gearbox sump and filter off.

Cheers :)

un-plug the wire, remove the roll pin and then the solenoid will pull out.

When I did mine I could not remove roll pin and ended up removing the whole valve body.

I have pictures of it all in bits if you need them.

If you have to drop the valve body - note the 2 ball bearings - do not drop them and lose them!

As Serek says, not hard to drop the box if you want to work on it on the bench - I thought I would not be able to do it, but managed it ok on the drive. Mine had a failed thrust washer so had to come off.

All sorted thanks guys. I needed to get some mole grips on the pin and it came out reasonably easy in the end. Thanks :y
