So, my search for a mint elite continues..... there is one currently on autotrader which does look very well cared for with 95k on and a £2,000 price tag. It may have everything done then again it may just be shiny..... apart from FSH and the cambelt being done what else would I need to see receipts for and it does have some rust on one rear arch (slight so it appears) and a bit on the rear badge (its an estate).
So just how long is a piece of string ;)

However good it is, I doubt it will fetch that much. :y
If you really want it, make an offer. :y
-
personally I'd go for this one

better build quality than the facelifts and a rare early survivor so depending on how long you keep it may even go up in value not down.
John.

I would say 2k not going to far off the mark, millage could do with being a tad lower, but would need to be a late'ish year. FSH, 12 months ticket, good alloys and tyres with good interior and exterior and all the Elite toys working. Elite Estates seem to be a bit rarer over Saloons these days and hence worth a bit more.
Bare in mind even the last ones off the production line now are 13+ years old, I still reckon another 13 years from now they will be collectors cars fetching good money.
-
I'm currently preparing a nice 3.2 Elite for sale. Currently about 3/4 of the way there. Just needs a few little jobs to make perfect. I'll be advertising for around £1395.00 once done with 12 months MoT.

I have seen that one but I am after a newer shape one, I simply like the look of them better, it also has to be original, i.e no aftermarket headunit in place of the Bose etc. I agree with the black estate on autotrader it is top money and I have spoken with the owner, he will not reduce the price at all due to the amount of work done on the car.... fair enough I guess, ideally I would go for a saloon as I don't need an estate and I actually prefer the look of them, one without a black leather interior would also be nice as that seems to be the common combination out there, a gold body with beige leather is ideal (in my humble opinion)..... or silver with grey leather.

Agree but the seller is stuck on that price, also when the cd changer is in ' safe mode ' what does that mean ?
-
Think that means the battery has been disconnected and the radio code hasn't been re-entered. Should find the code on the car pass, usually tucked away in the owners manual wallet.

This early model brings back memories :) I was the first person to place an order for an Omega the order was placed long before it was available for sale and Vauxhall was going to arrange a special presentation for me. My 1994 3.0 saloon was later replaced by a 1996 3.0 saloon. :)

Indeed, not an option on UK or Euroland ones.

Ok guys, what would you value a 3.0 litre elite on a W reg, 87k supposed to be mint with a bit of rust on one rear wing and a full mot, owned by the same person most if its life..... ?

That advert does make me smile -
'Unique 3.2 Elite light alloy wheels' .... errr as unique as every other 2002.5 MY Omega Elite or MV6 then.
'...a good Lotus Carlton will now set you back as much as seventy thousand pounds....' Really! Unfortunately not, as many on ABS will testify.
'Very rare specification' - Nope, Bog standard 3.2 Elite without the NCDC2015 and Telematics options and no rear blind as it was deleted from the very last ones.
Other than that and the colour it does look a nice car considering the mileage.

At that age it could be facelift or pre facelift, either way I'd not pay over £250. The bit of rust will end up being quite a lot more than it looks and if it's metallic (silver especially) it's a pain to match the re-spray without doing most of one side of the car.

IMO, If you owned the car and it was mint (and everyone's idea of mint varies) outside, underneath, engine bay the lot and even though it has "bit of rust" on one wing, you would want a grand for it, and why not, as a buyer we want them given to us, as a seller we want the right price. It may not be "mint" then the price starts dropping.
-
The car is facelift and to be fair looks nice in the pics, if the cambelt is done and it has a fsh ( supposed to) then a grand seems fair.
-
But not black/black. :y

does it show the reg plate. I think mine is a decent example so I typed the the reg into one of those car valuation sites but was not happy with the results. 2grand seems a lot to me.

I need to try a more modern one, as the ones fitted to 10yr old Mundanos and Focus' were bloody awful things to see through at night

Errr, no ;D
That's actually a lie, we keep saying we will do a tour up there, as neither of us have ever been further north (in the UK) than Glasgow/Edinburgh. And I suspect its a lovely part of the world to spend a week or more :y

Those valuation sites are not the best and the prices are generally what you may pay for a sub average condition. There can be to identical cars side-by-side but the 'real' valuations could be wide apart, but these sites just tar all cars with the same brush.
If I ever had an intention of selling mine I wouldn't open the garage door for £2k.
