I've been bored out of my tree this last few weeks what with the back problem, so today feeling some what better I decided to have a little play with the Disco. Now I have a list of stuff I want to do to it (new alarm being one ::) ::) ::) ) and I've never really looked at or meddled with the engine yet. I know that the v8 CAN have compression, overheating, cylinder head & slipped liner problems etc.
So I decided to do a little compression test to see whats what and have a rough guide as to what shape the engine is in.
The following were the results based upon 170psi being a healthy reading for these
Cyl 1 - 162 2 - 169
3 - 173 4 - 172
5 - 173 6 - 170
7 - 165 8 - 170
Looking at them I don't think that its in too bad of a shape really would you agree?
Gonna go for a rest now as I started putting it back together glass-back told me off (Co-Codamol time again ::) )

Reckon I'd be well chuffed with those figures if it were mine.
