yesterday went to maplins & bought a soldering iron so,s I could do a bit of a repair on my key fobs circuit board. was all set to start & by chance my wife who was sorting out a cupboard came with a notepad, asking me if some numbers and an address was any good. it turned out to be Martin Imber,s address so the fobs gone there. I didn't fancy attempting it myself. :)

I used his service probably 10yrs ago . yup quite good :y

Was going to suggest Martin when you first posted Ray, but thought that as you are a regular poster that you would have heard of him. I used his services a few weeks ago, he did a good job and at a good price all within a week. I can,t solder to save my life so was a no brainer. ;D

yes , but I don't trust myself as I ve never soldered in my life. was concerned I would cause more damage

Soldering new switches and the battery holder on the fob is one of the easier soldering jobs to do but I do appreciate that if you have never soldered before it's probably not something to practice on!

Ray, I used to teach soldering skills, amongst many other things, so rather than bore other Oofers silly with the procedures, if you wish I will PM you with details of best practice.
