Now if you are meaning a parts delivery driver, then firstly your the wrong sex, most parts drivers are young laydee's who are pleasing to the eye, so the garages will use them more...
As a trade plater, most are self employed, and work as and when needed, via an agency.

Hi,It's a main ford dealer, they are advertsing on their web page for delivery drivers,(zero hours) but that suits me.I've send my cv to them so have to wait now to find out what the perks are.

At best, cheapest train fare back home-ish. Doubt you'll get much else, but each company may be different.

I was going do some trade plating a few years ago, but I was expected to hitch hike back!! ;D

Friend of mine does something similar, well not quiet, he delivers Yachts all around the World, He's loving it.

As said all depends on the dealer and whether they are tight with the money.
Some dealers will pay everything and give you an hourly rate for the job. Other dealers will pay you a rate then how you get back is up to you and if your not careful there won't be much money left in your pocket at the end of the day, and god knows what time you will be back home if your trying to find the cheapest route.
You don't want to be to late back though because you need to be on the road again for 4-5.00am with your next delivery.
Make sure you are clear on what you are responsible for, make sure you ask about insurance and what you are liable for.
