Title: tyres
Post by: sounds2k on 28 November 2006, 13:58:19
I know this has been discussed before ... but out of these four types, what would folks recommend?

Avon ZZ3 @ £104 each
Continental Conti-contact @ £134 each
Pirelli P-Zero Rosso @ £95 each
Michelin (can't remeber the type) @ £145 each

cheers :)

I would go with the price in his case - Pirelli is top brand and the P-Zero are goos tyres (though some say they are too soft and don't last very long...?) so I see no reason to pay extra for any of the others.

I was happy with my previous Michelin Pilot that came with the car, I am happy with my Conti EcoContacts I have now, I am not happy with the fact that I paid for the contis £150 each (fitted) at National ...  :(

Will shop around better next time.

I run Avon ZV3 and they weren't as much as £105 each

Just bought a Michelin Pilot at Costco [only to match the one on the other side]

£120 fitted inc vat. Sometimes they have 20% off if you buy 4.

They see to last well.

I replace mine with the same as factory fit - Pirelli P7.  These are classed as High performance and the Zero Rosso are Ultra High performance according to Pirelli site http://www.pirelli.co.uk/web/fitment/selectSearchTyresForm.do?mySelectActived=confirm&myEntryPoint=%2Ffitment%2FhomeCarFull&brandVehicle=289&modelVehicle=3819&versionVehicle=17000&consent=Y

Kwik fit £150  :(  Local fitter £75

Assuming your after 235/45 R17 W rated or above

Camskill do the Avon ZZ3 for £63 each delivered, and tyre place charged me £30 for fitting (for 4)balancing and disposal.

The ZV3s are £90 each.

Black circles do the Contis for £117.70 fully fitted (104.19 delivered) or the PZeros for £111.09 fully fitted (£97 delivered)

You do need to be carefull as the price of the Contis and others varies by £20 depending on the speed rating - Y /W or Z

There is also a Y and W rated P-Zero as well as an extra load version, so the cheapest one may not be right for the Omega

Sorry if you already knew this and im teaching you how to suck eggs

Dunlop SP9000 235/45ZR17 occupy each corner of mine. Excellent grip.
