Title: CAR INSURANCE AND KEY FOB
Post by: thebeast on 19 May 2016, 20:01:44
I am looking to buy a 2nd omega and just having some insurance quotes, was told I need to start again to build my ncb as I cannot not carry it over for 2 cars the quotes I got are a complete and utter joke as insurance is anyway any suggestion?

my key fob is playing up any suggestions for repair or replacement?

I've got 1 omega insured with esure and although I didn't take them up on the offer was quoted for my second omega for which my full ncb was allowed with no problem.
Depends on what type of keyfob/year of car look in the how to guides elsewhere on the forum.

It is technically correct that you can only use your NCB on one car.

For example, despite having a (my fault) accident free driving career for 25+ yrs, I have 25yrs NCB on one car, but only 12yrs NCB on the other.

However, with some negotiation, some multicar insurers may give you an NCB discount on the 2nd car - but hold out for the full 5yr discount...   ...assuming your history is good.

Fobs - generally easy repair - fix battery holder on 2 button fobs, and fix battery holder and replace switches on 3 button fobs. Approx £0 for 2 button, or £2-3 for 3 button.
