Title: fitting 3 litre cats to a 3.2
Post by: omprezaman on 27 May 2016, 06:38:18
Has anyone fitted 3.0 litre cats to a 3.2? Is it a simple as in are the pipe lengths and shapes the same, what happens to the precat sensor as I presume the 3.0 only has 1 sensor per pipe whereas the 3.2 has 2, also are there any advantages to doing this, if so what? My 3.2 needs a new pair of cats and was considering the 3.0 cats as an option as for one reason I can get them cheaper than 3.2 cats. Also to note the car has a cat back high flow stainless exhaust. Thanks

Both of my 3.2's have been done, they were virtually a straight swap but with a small amount of fettling which someone will be along to tell you what's needed, as I didn't do the work but as usual stood and watched : ::):)I brought the approved version of the 3.0 ltr cats as I wasn't to sure wether the emissions would be affected on the MOT,they cost a bit more but the cars sailed through the MOT. :y
