I for one will be watching it. Sun 8p.m. BBC2
Anyone know when the Amazon one starts.? I'll then have to figure out a way of viewing here in the "limited sticks".
-
I shall be watching. :y
It may be the case that Clarkson, May, and the hamster, are not quite as indispensable as they like to think they are.
-
It's a little like taking time off work.
Take a month off and people realise how much they need you.
Take three months off and they realise they can do without you.
-
:( Sadly , I just can't get away with Chris Evans

How true. ;D ;D
Off for six months and people have forgotten your name.
-
I cant quite remember what I heard on the radio the other night, but it was something about Chris Evans and an audience walking out. :-\

I can,t stand the tw*t either, but, as he,s far richer than me he must be far from stupid. But, God ,is he annoying ;D
-
Can't stand the Pr**k.
-
I will watch it to see the new format and to see if its any good but might have to mute it when evans is on, dont know about face for radio but he has a voice for silent movies.
-
So, the ginger whinger took the gypsy's out of Clarkson for taking 3 hours to film Top Gear, yet he did just tge same himself - schadenfreude!
Ron.
-
I will watch it if only to
perv over observe Sabine ;D
-

Yea, bring it on, I could a couple of laps with Her, :P
Also another rumor going around that LeBlanc has already give his Notice and will quit after the 1st Series due to Ginger being a complete dick and trying to copy Clarkson rather than be himself, think he has also been offered a position with USA Top Gear when ever hes ready, due to predicted forecasted fame in UK TG.
-
I do believe Chris Evans is his own number one fan, can't see it lasting to be honest.
Although JC is a Marmite character he is actually a journalist( is that something to broadcast publicly) :)
CE is just one of the ''I love me who do you love brigade'' What's the betting he shouts his own name when he hits the vinegar stroke :o
-
Well its not working for me, only been 30mins into the new series and Im sick of the Gingers voice already. >:(
Dont care what anybody says, whether you love, hate or loath them, JC, May and that Hamster chap are Top Gear.

Totally agree. Just switched off to go and watch a box set. It all just smells of "trying too hard". And yes, Gingers voice really is annoying after not very long.
The box set ? Homeland. If you don't know this. Watch it. Essential viewing.

By the time I get back to work we won't have a team left, its gonna be like the Marie Celeste!!! 1 got a new job firing guns, 1 on the driver training skool, 2 opted to move away from traffic all together, and 1 on long term sick!!! :'( :'( :'(
-
Just turned it off.. what a load of shiittt
-
Yep crap....Gonna watch the re runs of the X factor :D :D :D
-
It makes 5th gear look good.
-
Evans really is a gigantic pain in the ass.
-

-
I watched it to the bitter end. It was crap from start to finish.
-
You have to remember that the whole concept had already been done to death by the original musketeers. We were all moaning that it had gone stale and was too samey, so introducing two less talented presenters and giving them inferior material to work with was never going to work.
It was just the beeb trying to prove they could do it without Clarkson.
They spend a huge amount of our money on this programme and that wasn't a problem when they could make a massive profit selling it abroad. But I doubt they'll recoup what they invest in this series, unless it's already pre-sold. Again, I doubt many buyers will want a second series, the format is too familiar.
-

Bloody hell. It must be REALLY bad then
Nevada USA, US Fighter planes, top of the range muscle cars etc etc. How much of my licence fee has that cost ? Just to pacify the egos of the upper echelons of the BBC. TG was not cheap, but it was cheaper than that for sure.
Sack all of the upper levels of the BBC and replace them with young fresh realistic talent.

Totally disagree, yea the JC series was starting to get tied, but it still had legs, and tons of followers.
I reckon, like me, most people watched the show tonight, prepared to give it a go, and hoping it would go with a bang, the BBC have had enough time and funds to prepare for that. But no, the show was just rubbish, Evans was rubbish, shouting he's way through the script, its almost like Evans has done all he's homework buy watching all the JC shows and just tried to mimic them all.
Sad, that such a Show with so many followers and fans can be destroyed so easily within the first few mins of a re launch.

agree with all of the above
-
Wasted opportunity to do something different/fresh. :'(
Can the Ginger Cant, and let Matt and Sabine run it as their show. It was clear that neither were entirely comfortable working with him...
When does the other one start?
-
Well I missed it earlier as we were outside having a BBQ so I've just put it on Iplayer and lasted a full 2m 30s before I had to turn it off, it's was so cringeworthy I couldn't bear it.
Clearly Evans thinks he's Clarkson, it's a shame because you'd think him pretending to be anybody but himself would be an improvement.
-
I thought they were going to change the format as well as the presenters.... :-\
Although I liked 'The Star In A Rally Car', there will be some fun on the off road bits! ::)
-
I thought it was about the same as before, to be honest. Same tired format, no worse with the new presenters, proving that there wasn't actually any "magic" left in the previous presenters, IMHO. I thought it was obvious to everyone that it also needed some fresh ideas. Everyone except the BBC, it seems. :-\

Exactly how I felt.
Much better was the following programme on the Battle of Jutland, the only battleship fleet engagement not involving aircraft. Radio communication not used enough, ammunition flash doors propped open to increase rate of fire, both fleets using new and untested technology, all were described. In this inconclusive action thousands of men died in a few hours. the Germans returned to port first and claimed a great victory, but the British blockade of Germany continued so the Brits won really.
-
This sums it all up quite well I think. I looked this up as this guy was interviewed live on BBC radio and said much the same thing. I love the expression as " as much chemistry as Ed Milliband and Nigel Farage"

I read that that Ging Tw*t said that he would be disappointed to have less than 5m viewers for the first episode and they got 4.4m. I wonder if they can count how many turned off during the show? :D
-
I thought it was brilliant. :y :y :y :y
I was fast asleep before the Viper/corvette review was finished. . . . . Keeping it on HD then if I keep putting it on evry night then I might get to see it all before next weeks TG. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Safer than sleeping pills, Mr. Skrunts, but be careful not to overdose on ginger.....
Ron.
-
Much the same as before......only instead of three men we had two men and a girlie to entertain us.
-
Picture on Twitter today of Clarkson, Hammond and May
pissing themselves looking very unconcerned.
-

Id love to know where they get these so called accurate viewing figures from in just a short space of time. :-\
Ive ever been asked what Ive been watching in my entire lifetime let along less than 24 hours ago,
In case you missed it, its on again in about 3 mins time on 2, I wonder how many millions will be watching it this time. ::)
Well not me thats for sure.
-
And another thing, where was my Sabrina in the Live Show?, or is she just booked for the Outside Broadcasts. :-\

I suspect she's busy teaching people to drive... ::)

Is it not automatic in this digital world? Certainly is if you have Sky or VM....
-
I actually thought it was quite good.
-
Was determined not to watch as I can't abide Chris Evans. In the end I relented on the basis of "can't knock it 'til you've tried it.Apart from the aforementioned CE they should have been a lot braver and changed the format-or at least changed it a lot more than they have.Shall not be watching again.
-
Watched the repeat last night and apart from the different faces was the same as usual a few good bits punctuated by lots of juvenile stuff but will no doubt tune in again next week.
John.
-
It was OK, just more of the same. The change in presenters was a missed opportunity to shake up a format that had become dull and stale.
-
Dull, tedious, and embarrassing.
Same tired format, which we know was in need of freshening up, but no real chemistry between the presenters, making the pre arranged gags seem very laboured. It just all seemed false.
Given the format had run low on fresh ideas, I think I only watched it before to see 3 mates cocking around. So the same spent ideas, but with piss poor presenters, was just shite.
A wasted opportunity, BBC :'(. I suspect this series may be the last, as the BBC will realise the format doesn't work with a pair of talentless self-lovers trying to act like the old amusing oafs.
-
I actually thought it was quite good.
Me too. Admittedly Evans voice is too high for the studio, but he's always done alright on that TFI Friday, and Radio 1, and the Big Breakfast - he's obviously an experienced host with live audiences.
And i liked the changes to the track -it's about time.
I compare it to Series One of Top Gear from around 2002 with Clarkson, Hammond and Jason.
(Now that really does roll off the tongue.) It was an okay show, but hadn't found its stride - And you don't see THAT repeated endlessly on Dave!
Give it chance - I will.

Had it been a brand new format, I probably would persevere, knowing it was new and needed time... ...but same old, same old, only far more poorly done.
I'm just the stupid kid from the local comprehensive, but even I know that trying to emulate what went before will always end up unsatisfactory.
Since I saw it yesterday, I've gone from an indifference twinged with disappointment at the time to anger now. And an entertainment show should not make me feel angry, which makes me angry ;D. Though I supposed it has succeeded in provoking my thought.
-
Bunch of Monkeys fed on Banana's and Peanuts could have done a better job.
LeBlanc looked as though "I cant believe Im doing this Rubish", He's better than that, but He didn't seem to feel comfortable with that Shouting Ginger idiot. Rumor has it LeBlanc has resigned to just the 1st Series already, And where was Sabrina?, Im sure she would have added a sparkle to the Show.
AS said, wasted opportunity from the BBC, theve had plenty of time and Funds to pull a Rabbit out of the Hat, almost seems that wanted it to fail.
-
I thought Leblanc thought Evans was a geeky ginger moron. Which he is. I'm going to give it a chance.
-
What I mean by that is that hopefully it will develop in to a pee taking relationship. At Evans' expense.
-
Not very impressed with the first show but I'm prepared to give it a chance. In my opinion not a good idea to give an American the post of co-presenter as I feel top gear is a quintessentially a British show. I think Guy Martin would have been perfect for the job.
-
And where was Sabrina?, Im sure she would have added a sparkle to the Show.
Despite the fact she's let herself go a little since the Transit one, I still think she's easy on the eye, clearly knows how to handle a vehicle, and would make a better co-presenter than either Ginge or the Sherman.
I wonder if the beeb thought her strong accent might be unacceptable? Or Ginge put his foot down, knowing she'd upstage him?
-
Probably worried she would make him puke again if she drove with him in a car ;D ;D ;D
-
I strongly suspect that the new series is very much targeted at the opposite side of the pond.
At the end of the day, the BBC make serious money from Top Gear and probably will continue to do so.
That said I quite enjoyed it, it was far more watchable than a lot of the tat on TV these days like Sickly Bums Prancing, Nobenders and Chavs have no talent
-

Possibly, but Im sure not too many UK English speaking viewers would complain if she was to do a Topless Belly dance whilst singing 99 Red Balloons in German. :D

Complete with hairy armpits ?

Trust you, now you've gone and reuined it.

Sorry. :-[ :P :D ;D

Better......much better.
-
Better......much better.
Agree :y
-
Ah . . . . . Forgot. Too busy having a BBQ :y
-
Just watched it on iPlayer and agreed it's much better! :y
Bit strange that the Jag they had in Seff Effrica was a left hooker on Eyetie plates? :-\ Surely given the unlimited resourses of the BBC, if they had to ship one out they could have found a RHD at home? ::)
-
Just watched it & saw the first one last week , got to say I prefer it Clarkson & co just got sillier & sillier in my opinion. I never used to like Chris Evans a few years back but don't mind him at all now, Clarkson just seems a pompous ass.
-
Was I the only person who thought Eddie Jordan didn't come out of that very well?
I would have loved to have a go at that final drive up to the highest pub in Africa.
-

Does he ever come over very well ::) :D

Latest show.
Seems to me that the Beeb thinks that everything can be made ok by just throwing license payers money at it. I mean how much does it cost to have super cars racing around a major Middle Eastern city and also a muscle car vs electric car thing in the USA. Transport, hotels god know what else. The end result is just benign mindless twaddle with no real atmosphere or sense of involvement. Clarkson et al would achieve the same result in a field in bedfordshire at a fraction of the cost.
Also, dump Evans and make the Friends guy Matt somethingorother full time. Evans is just plain infantile.
-
I would guess that it doesn't cost the BBC that much. Probably the transport and hotels for the crew. If cars were my product I'd stump up quite a bit of cash to have them on Top Gear.
I actually think the new top gear is getting better, and probably interests me more than the old one now. They've figured out that LeBlanc is a better presenter than Evans and moved the latter to the background and added a few fresh presenters to the mix.
Still wouldn't alter my routine to watch it, but if I'm bored and it's on catch-up.. :y

I think thats ws said when the last trio started.
Must admit I quite fancy one of those AM Vulcans when I win the lottey, plus my own private airfield to play on.

The yank and the german girl are quite entertaining. :y
Eddie Jordan and the ginger one less so. :-\

They should have tempted guy martin to host the show instead of ginger
-
Just seen the Mirror online, seems the ratings are still dropping and there is talk of them axing the show.
-
I want to see Eddie Jordan race against that Sabina Schmidt, around the track as Eddie is a very good racer,
-
Hmmmmm. not sure this is right. But it is amusing-ish . . .
