Hi,
My Omega 2.5 TD CDX air-con isn't working. No surprise there, especially as it doesn't appear to have any gas in it >:(. As far as I see, the system is complete though, so it could have justlostall the gas over time. Are there any DIY checks I can do to see if the system would work before I go to the expense of attempting to have it gassed up? I'm particularly worried about it having a massive leak somewhere, is there a DIY leak test?

Apparently 10% gas loss year on year is acceptable, but most likely to be a rotten condenser...
Easiest, and only real way to check is to have it regassed.
Make sure they use a dye when they do it. If it works, happy days, if it doesn't then the dye will help find the hole(s) ;)

Take it to a reputable place who will pressure test the system with nitrogen, after it's been on the Dalek. As a Dalek only tests if it will hold a vacuum.
It needs to be able to hold pressure for 1/2hour then be re-vacuumed have dye put in then checked again then regassed. :).

Do inspect the bottom of the condenser first though as its probably fallen off, far better to replace this first saving a repeat visit. :y

Plus1, as above. :)

Sounds like top advice from everyone. Long way to go before I start sorting air-con issues out, but at least I know where I'm heading!!
