I know you're probably aware of this, been all across the news, but still shocking. Very unusual for a gun to be used in these attacks, although several MP's have been attacked with knives.
-
Say what you like about our MPs, but this is a very sad turn of events. :(
-
Thought it was USA when I first read it. Very sad.
-
Christ, first I heard of it. Shocked

Just in the last few minutes the headlines have changed from "seriously injured" to "Dead"
Blimey :( Another Jihadist ? or just some nutter ?

Guy who the locals named certainly didn't have an Asian name, but I guess that doesn't mean much.
I got really annoyed listening to some woman saying that Jo had been working very hard for the leave campaign, which she passionately believed in.......blah, blah. Christ! Talk about an inappropriate time to harp on about that......

We were watching the press conference....shocked,two kids have lost their mum and her husband must be devastated,In my world the guy that murdered her would be fast tracked.....guess to what fate, not prison of course!

Rip :'(

A shocking, tragic and senseless loss. RIP. :'(
-
A sad and very upsetting day for the UK and politics. RIP with my thoughts with her husband, two young children, her family and friends. :'(
Sadly, the world is currently becoming a more dangerous intolerant place. :(
-
Absolute tragedy,what a waste of life :'( :'(
-
Awful , but as usual the news a reporting that the male arrested has a history of mental illness, poor husband & 2 young children such a tragic waste.
-
Very popular lady by all accounts. Lots of tears on TV's this morning.
-
Saw this while watching footy in the pub yesterday
Must admit, this has got me speechless at how oppsed up this world has become
A local lass who had the conviction to fight for her constituents and for what she believed in.
Regardless of what your views are on something's, the taking of her life by some bitter and twisted friggin no mark while just doing a job that she believed in is sickening to the extreme >:( >:(
In years to come, I just hope that the people of Birstall, Jo's family and friends make sure that those 2 small children who will now grow up without there mum, understand and be proud of what sort of person she was.
RIP Jo
Far too young :(

I've noticed that this is mostly reported in the media as the 'killing' of Jo Cox rather than the 'murder'. Is there a reason for this? Such as it can't be called a murder until the guy is convicted of murder? :-\

Yes there is. It's because due to the ethnicity of her murderer, our media is choosing to couch his actions as ones of a mentally disturbed individual, rather than an ideologically motivated attack. To call it murder implies intent, which doesn't fit that narrative.
Did anyone else see the video of Britain First front man (can't remember his name) claiming that you shouldn't judge the whole organisation based on the actions of one individual.
You couldn't lay the irony on any thicker if you used a shovel! ::)

Hmmm not sure about that too be honest as it's something I've noticed before where a murder is described as a 'killing', usually on the BBC. :-\
