Title: V6 2.6 Engine Errors lights
Post by: SBuffo on 16 June 2016, 19:26:06
Hi and help.  Have a 03 reg 2.6 V6 auto.  Can anyone guide me to a reliable wiring diagram?  I have problem with engine management and emission lights coming on (spanner and engine) and then going away sometimes.  Currently emission light on most of the time.  Months ago had new cambelt and new coils.  When this lights problem first happened got a new crank sensor.. could that be "Wrong?".   Any help with wiring diagram or ideas of what to look at .. Pedal trick gives 0420, 0430 and 0340, 0330   ................S Buffo  P.S. occasionally get the low beam check error message coming on

0420/0430 are almost factory fitted. Wynns fuel treatment, a couple of tanks of VPower and a heavy right foot usually solve that.

As for the rest... where did the crank sensor come from? Please don't say ebay or Autovaux.

Low beam is most likely a disconnected arm on either the front or rear sensor... both on lefthand side, usually the front one is to blame ;)

Many thanks
I've had to leave it a day or two but back now chasing issues...
Would this also explain why the engine cuts out after say 7 miles, temp up to 80 ish on the gauge, than restarts with lots of right foot and runs ok if the temp stays above 85 ish.
Got a 0100 error when "pedal checked"....

Got local garage to fit new crank sensor - so Should/better had be OK....

Its a great car when it goes well so am persevering!
