Have recently been down that same road,and my wallet is still smarting ...brownie points wore off the day suite arrived,now plans have moved onto dining room :o

Not as expensive as Sunday was for me ..... we bought a 'new' caravan. We'd only really gone to have a look .... or that's what I was told ::) ::)

I can sympathise with you there mate...
We was just 'going for a look' in January..... 9K later and we have another caravan sat on the drive.... I will admit though, it is a world better than the 25 year old leaky Lunar we had beforehand....

Our Lunar was 2002 and still bone dry. Can't wait to go & collect the new one next week :y

Our old Lunar was a 1990 Anniversary edition Delta 560-4.... huge caravan, not that heavy and only a 4 berth.... only just fit on the drive... I swapped it for a load of carparts LOL I had to rebuild the inside, replaced 4 walls, replaced the floor, replaced the counter top for the kitchen, replaced basically everything except for the body... which I had to reattach to the chassis coz it had come away.... but we had 2 good years with it, at the end it didn't leak, was warm and dry. Iv ended up giving it to a good mate of mine who will be using it to tour the country with his racing car coz he's fed-up of kipping in his tow car LOL
The new caravan is a 6 berth Swift Charisma 570 and is an absolute world apart from the Lunar...

my wife once said ive been out today & bought a new cooker an high level grill electric. at the time ours was a built under with a gas hob. so obviously remove built in oven & hob. remove oven housing & cut the worktop. I asked her what size the oven was & were told 60x 60cm, it wasn't I had a 5cm each side of the new cooker. then two months later she decided with her only being 5ft a high level grill ( which was never used ) was no good for her. a new gas hob & built in oven, no oven housing tho. I had the oven on bricks and the hob resting on 3x3 timber screwed to the units whilst a joiner pal did the masons cut to join two new worktops together at 90degrees. then when all was in & running the units were " tired looking " & do I want to go halves on new units. at the time I was doing brickying for a joiner mate so I was able to use his Magnet trade account. but still what started out as a womens whim cost me after new kitchen tiles wall & floor (which were changed from a brown to a gloss black) & new paint job totalled a few grand. the 2 mth old cooker was given to a scrap guy.
