Post by: Diamond Black Geezer on 20 June 2016, 15:13:54: Every time you see one of these, I always am forced to wonder, I know there's the engineering challenge, and for some that's the whole point - the thrill of the chase, etc - but certainly in the case of the Omega how much would it cost to buy/ship the back end of an accident damaged Holden Ute? Or just the whole car? really? vs the cost and time of making an Omega pickup.

I respect the time and skills involved hugely, but it's a very odd thing to make your own version of a car that almost exactly exists already.

That's the least of the issues, as the modified monocoque means it needs a BIVA test to be legal.

Holden is wider than an omega, 100mm I think.
