My Omega is usually parked facing up a steep hill and leaks oil from the usual 2 bolts on the bell housing, but if I move it from the hill onto the level it leaks quite a lot in a short time and it seems that oil collects in the bell housing.
I've changed the cam cover gaskets and cam covers several times over the years, and although I'm not discounting that, at 242,000 miles I think that my leak is from the rear crank seal. :-\
Any thoughts Chaps? :)

Can you remove the big rubber bung at the bottom of the bell housing and see how messy it is inside? Specifically, if oil has been running down the back of the block behind the flywheel?

Yes I removed the bung and stuck a finger in. It was wet and sloppy! ::)

I had mine changed at around 150 000 miles ..... it made a huge difference to the oil stain on my drive.
I paid someone else though to fit it. OE seal was £30odd and £200 cash to fit

I've had a good poke about this afternoon and it looks like the offside cam cover is leaking! ::) :(

That's much better than a crankseal; a tenner's worth of gasket and about 30minutes work.

Might just slap a load of mastic around and it'll probably last longer! ::) ;D

2 1/2 years on my Elring ones which were in the £12.50 headset that I used all of. Having replaced my front crankseal(about £4 from ECP, it's a standard industrial part) and oil pressure sender, mine has been oiltight since last summer.

I think I've got a set of Elring gaskets from the gasket kit I got when I changed the headgaskets! I reused the genuine ones at the time as they weren't very old and were still nice and flexy. I'll have to look them out! Thanks for the reminder Nick! :y
It's also quite oily at the front, so yes the front crank seal and oil pressure sender will have to be looked at as well at some time. Cam belt is not far away, so that's a good a time as any. :)

Easy once you've loosened the crank bolt. Which is seriously tight, and requires a robust method of locking the crank. Mine is a bar that bolts across the pulley and wedges against the water pump. Another couple of holes the bar turns it into a pulley extractor
