Title: EU - Good Luck Everyone, See you on the other side, or maybe not.
Post by: zirk on 22 June 2016, 09:48:43
So, less than 24 Hours to go before we decide Britain's fate, and if the Poll researchers are anything to go by, its going to be a tight Vote, currently averaging 44% each side, and the remainder yet to decide. Without doubt we'll find out this time Friday Morning.

Which ever way you vote and what ever the outcome, lets just hope we dont screw up, and the future of Britain's Economy, Security and Public Welfare, to name a few, are on track for prosperous and bright future.  :y

Made my mind up 20 years ago tbh because the so called economy argument is a massive 2nd compared to the right to make your own laws, run your own affairs, trade with who you want to on our terms ect

Its a shame that the OUT campaign couldn't stick farage in a friggin barrel and cast the cock out to sea somewhere for a few months because I fear that the monotonous self-abuser has screwed up the OUT campaign with his constant dribbling on about immigration AND nothing else because it was always more then that  :(

Like  everything else , people will moan whatever the result is , don't think much will change whatever the result if it is so good to be in it why are we in such a mess anyhow ? If we come out we are all used to empty promises about the NHS & employment etc .Got my plans for the future sorted so won't be watching any more of the bullshit.

I'm with Tilbo on this one,we have worked hard for 50+ and 40 years respectively, never claimed a penny from the state, nearly lost our house back when the interest rates went bloody stupid, but pushed on and got back on track. Saved a bit when we could and sorted out pensions for the both of us,got a feeling that there wasn't any input from the E.U on that score... just our own efforts! so as far as we're concerned the E.U can eat shite and die, and wether it's a stay or leave, in all honesty I really couldn't care less. ::) ;D

The polls are still neck and neck, although I think Remain have the slight advantage.  So I think it will come down to the weather!  ::)

The Leavers will go and exercise their democratic right come hell or high water, whereas if the weather is  bad the complacent Remainers will think I'm not going out in that!  ;)

It's a bit like a test match in the cricket!  ;D

Both sides have failed to sway me, but having seen (only yesterday) one of the TV ads for one side, it was so full of shit, I'm voting for the other.

Sorry, heart, head wins this time.

Though I'm sick to the back teeth of it all.  The campaign should be limited to a week, as 9 weeks listening to a load of utter twaddle (from both sides) is enough to turn most people off.

I was aware that Boris has one or two Turkish skeletons rattling around in his cupboard, and unfortunately we have an absolutely shameful family secret, that being my mum's side of the family were from Northern France and since finding out, I have felt a strong need to wear a beret and a Freddy Kruger style striped jumper and ride a bike covered in onions,I believe I have 'issues' that will need to be dealt with ::) :-X

$1.28 tourist rate currently...

EU trade swapped for US investment perhaps... :-\

Strong turn out in the Leave areas which might seal the deal...

Short term uncertainty, no more no less. There wont be a recession, high interest rates, and lots of job losses. This country is a great country and once the dust has settled will flourish like never before. You,ll see.  :)

The fact that we also get rid of a crap PM and doubtless his chancellor too is a bonus. Who the replacements will be is a bit of a worry though. I expect Boris will get the big job, hisis strategic manouvering and bravado has been very clever.

I suspect Brussels backed heaverly by Germany and France will try and make it very difficult of UK's intentions of leaving the EU by slamming doors on any proposed easy Leave Negotiation Deals, making a strict example of UK's exit to other EU Members possibly toying with the idea of similar intentions of leaving.

I must admit, I turned the internet and TV off first thing yesterday morning on advise order of the missus because I was starting to loose the plot with all the bullshit been spouted by all sides and people in general  :(
I didn't have a clue what the result was until mini me brought me a coffee in bed, this morning before he went to work with a friggin big smile on his face  :y :y

Even though he would struggle because he is honest to a tee, I can see that lad going into politics one day  :-\

I've also admit that even though I wanted us to tell the EU to stick it up Junkers arse and have done for a good 25 years, I did have my doubts that the people of Great Britain after 20 + years of having spin, bullshit and been made to feel guilty if you don't agree with whatever shite was the party line of the day been rammed down our throats could see the wood for the trees and see this as I did as a chance to take back control of these isles and control our own destiny  :)

Welcome to the 23rd June

One thing I heard on the radio on Tuesday evening was a comment from the head of trade and finance in sausage land stating that IF the UK voted BREXIT, it would be better if the EU respected the decision and didn't try to punish us with stupid rules and tariffs because (in his words) its would be like the 70's again  :(

That for me was the first bit of common sense spoken from the EU in ages  :y

Imho, with fish face and her spin machine still active up in Jock land, this was always going to be the case sadly  :(
Even though I believe in the union, it has been left to fester and rot for years with no clear leadership or togetherness to be seen.
What should have been kept at the banter stage led to full blown arguments.
What started as disagreements was spun out into "we hate the tories / English" and if we don't get our own way, we want our independence  :(

Also guessing the other 48% are quiet shocked and disappointed by the outcome.

Cant help wondering what of the other 13 million (28%) of potential Voters that chose not to vote are thinking right now.

I'm a great believer in that it should be law that everybody who is eligible should vote with two of the options on the ballot paper been Non Of The Above and NFI  ;)

But at the end of the day, if people cant be arsed to vote then they shouldn't have a opinion  ;)

Corbyn only got the job because the unions wanted him too and because of the spin about what the tories was going to do to the working man if a lefty didn't get in to fight for them.

But at the end of the day, the unions are run by its members and with Corbyn half heartedly going against the will of the working class and standing alongside Camoron he cut his own throat imho  :-\

You have to remember that those union members voted (if you discount the jocks and within the M25) around 70% to 30% to leave  :y

Probably correct,  one of our neighbours works in the local library; about Thursday lunchtime  a couple of spotty erberts turned up at the return books counter.  "Errr we`ve come to vote"  :o " we lost our cards & Mum said we should come here". They confirmed they are still living with Mum & "no she never votes cos she`s boring"  ::) After giving over their post codes, they were pointed in the right direction.

I thought of my old man when I was voting and what he said......

"If you likened our relationship with the EU to that of a man and a woman; if you then wrote to dear Deirdre asking for her advice. She'd say you need to get out of this toxic relationship. She most definitely wouldn't say "well you better stay with him in case he gets violent if you leave"

That sums it up for me

Just watched the news, they are still trying to push us around....like they say ''WW2 never ended, the Germans just changed their tactics'' and from what I heard on a local radio talk show recently the Polish people have not forgot what was done to their people back then, as a few Polish people called in and made their views on the Germans quite clear...the problem with us is, we are too nice for our own good! :)
