Title: Passenger side glove box.
Post by: ted_one on 26 June 2016, 17:49:14
Wanted passenger side glove box cover for a facelift saloon, unfortunately it's the creamy beige colour.Hopefully there aren't any variants in that colour range.More than happy to pick it up,but Scotland would be pushing though :)

What's the issue with current one?

Completely jammed, with the release catch stuck in the up position,SWMBO moans that she keeps catching her knee on it,I'm trying to resist pushing it down as it will definitely break it,so will need to replace it with a working one. :-\

Why not just replace the latch?

You need a helpful main dealer first off......n/a, and then you need time and patience and as I have anger management issues surrounding Omegas and to do a fiddly job  I just don't have it.Also got a sneaking suspicion that the catch is possibly n/a as well now, would need at least two as something is gonna get busted ::) ;D

Well, I'm breaking an Omega but the glove box is grey. if you don't have any other offers, you can have my glovebox for the latch for postage cost and maybe a few shekels for my time.

Could be a plan, whereabouts in Dorset are you based,as I have been known to lurk around those parts on occasions :)

Once you've got the glovebox off - which is always going to happen - swapping over the internals is really not a long job, qhite interesting, and also don#'t forget that you'd need it disassembled in order to swap the glovebox lock over anyway. So you might as well get any old colour glovebox/just the internals, and swap the internals over  :y

I've read the replacement procedure :o, I'll certainly get the bits together, regretfully that's where it will stop,BUT I do know a very nice Polish gentleman who hails from Huntingdon who may well bail me out on this one ;) :y

It's really, really easy. If you've ever so much as seen a picture of a screwdriver, then it's doable. :) In fact it's really a case of "ooh, there's a screw, I'll undo it. Oh, it's still in, ah, there's another screw, I'll undo it". Repeat until the glovebox comes out!  :)
