Title: The 'Hindsight' EU Poll
Post by: Diamond Black Geezer on 28 June 2016, 14:14:43
If you could go back in time and speak to yourself, and show them this last week's events.

I pose this just because the ramifications seem to have already been so dramatic, far reaching, and I think both sides feel their respective leaders have done the unsurprising. It has highlighted massive divisions, and shown how truly divisive a 50/50 split can be. I've always been in the Leave camp, but given the acidity that seems to feel like the 'intelligentsia' disgusted with what the 'proles' have done.

Views OOfers?  :)

I hope it doesn't get hacked like the online petition was. something like 36000 people from the Vatican signed it, when only a few hundred people live there.  ::)

Only one answer :y

Not really the correct question though...

Should be... would you change your vote? Yes or No... ;)

All largely irrelevant as the numbers have spoken ::)

I agree on the questioning, wrong questions really, if Im reading you thoughts correctly think your asking 'if you voted leave, would you still vote the same knowing whats happened' or something like that, so a choice of unbiased questions or options for both sides along them lines.  :-\

I'd still vote the same, even if the end result is that I now realise many people I thought were friends, probably weren't.

That does come close to my viewpoint, actually. Personally I don't mind, or think any more, or less of anyone, whichever way they voted. I'll repsect anyone's right to an opion

However....

rather strangely, as a 'leaver' I appear to, in actually appear to be a blind, unintelligent bigot, politically naive, and hater of all foreigners in the eyes of many people I know who voted 'remain'  :'(

Well.. if I believed anything people are bleating on about there will surely be a lot of vacancies soon!  ;D ;D Of course I don't expect anyone to actually follow through with threats of leaving England.. they have nice, secure, well paid jobs here, after all.

I have to say that my initial reaction was "Oh shit what have we done", however now at least a tiny bit of the dust has settled, I would vote the same again. Particularly after Junkers responses and comments. I think it was the Czeck PM who actually blamed Junkers for Brexit.

Your poll should have had another category: We've had the referendum you demanded; now live with the result.

My vote would be exactly the same-out-and for exactly the same reasons I had originally, and for the record they were nothing to do with immigration. My son has sent me an e-mail asking if I'd voted and saying that if he'd voted he'd have voted out.Reason he didn't vote was that living just outside San Francisco he thought it would be hypocritical of him to do so,although he was still eligible to do so had he wished.

So the media have come up with a few people who now say they regret voting to leave the EU, and according to social media millions regret the way they voted.  ::)

So how about the other way round?  ???  I bet there are plenty who influenced by Project Fear voted Remain through gritted teeth.  We'll never know though as it dosn't make a good story!  ;)

Martin Schulz, president of the EU parliament yesterday " The British have violated the rules. It is not the EU philosophy that the crowd can decide its fate".
How any right thinking person would want to have any connection with that kind of thinking, is completely beyond me.Its not just undemocratic, its anti democratic.
I aint just aht, I'm aht aht.  :)

Jesus, that's exactly the kind of thinking that has caused this split.  :(

Unfortunately, many Remainders don't do democracy, the great unwashed shouldn't interfere where they 'know best'. Which is one of the reasons Leave won, where we are all too thick to realise the advantages of belonging to the EUSSR. We are too stupid to realise that the EU is heading in the direction of Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy and don't get that they are really the Euro economic poster boys. ::) ::) ::)

Germany that dependable ally who had a Eurozone wide inflation agreement. To their credit France stuck to it, Southern Europe exceeded it which reduced their competitiveness and Germany ran a deliberate deflationary policy to gain a competitive advantage and to run a trade surplus against all the other Euro countries. :( :o

Just don't mention the 2 Italian, 3 Spanish, 1 Belgium bank that are going to need bailing out or the Germans Deutsche bank. ::) :o

On the same rational E. Europe are poorer countries and regret leaving the USSR.

Our trade balance with ROW is positive and negative and getting worse with EU and that is IMO a deliberate Frence / German policy. >:(
