Title: Air con fans
Post by: razzo on 20 July 2016, 19:44:18
Should the two air con fans in front of the rad run all the time while air con is in use or are they switched dependent on coolant temp as mine don't kick in until engine temp reaches nearly 100 degrees

Working fine. Cut in 90-100'c if I'm correct.

Yep. Will run at slow speed then full chat if/when engine temp rises

Do the air con fans also cut in if the engine temp rises too high, regardless of whether the air-con is switched on?

Excellent!  I still haven't got round to ditching my dodgy viscous fan yet.  I want to give the rad a good flush before I do.  I also want to test the fans to make sure they work, I was going to find the temp sensor, unplug it and bridge the connector, unless there's a better way?

There's a guide on here somewhere, iirc Entwood posted it up.

Very useful, thank you.  I'll get round to it one day.  Still battling with my exhaust at the moment, or lack of exhaust.  Snapped bolt in the downpipe to centrebox clamp.  My TD has been running with no silencers since I got it, you can hardly tell the difference to be honest.
