Talked to car insurance people today as Omegas runs out beginning of next month.Premium for year just about to end was £200+change,renewal premium which they say was cheapest they could get for me was with same company as I'm with now and was...£468+change :o :o :o Either they're out of their tree or they must think I am :-X Told them to cancel it at end of this current policy.Just been on comparison site[if I had off road parking I'd sorn it until next year, but I haven't so it must remain insured]Cheapest quote on there-using all same parameters as with my present insurer came in at £147+change :D,so they'll be getting my business :y

Who was it that did it that cheap :y

That was with Saga from the comparison site where you get a fluffy toy and cinema tickets ;)

By Christ. Having said that, I rang ours at renewal time and had barely said "can you do it any che-" and he went "I'll knock £100 off that one, £30 off that", etc. So in our case they're, as ever, relying on people just accepting the renewals.

This seems to be the case with all insurances now a days, there seems to be no reward for customer loyalty any more. Every year now I look for cheaper quotes for car and home insurance at renewal time if my insurers hike my premiums up. If I find a quote that suits I taking it an cancel the insurance with my present company. I don't give them the chance to offer me cheaper and tell um, "if you could have done it cheap why was that price not in my renewal? Oh yes that's right your trying to rip me off aren't you."

As soon as renewal lands, see how much they want then straight on to all of the comparison sites, via top cash back, and see what's best deal, I don't even bother,Talking to the previous company,

Thing is basically I'm an idle old sod and quite lackadaisical in such matters, and I was quite expecting a rise in the premium.Had it been another fiver or a tenner or the like I'd probably just have gone with it,but to more than double is just taking the p*&s.Anyway I'm glad they got so greedy as instead of a slight rise over last year I'm now saving over £50 on what it was. :y

Guys, Guys, Guys...do it through cashback, once you've found the cheapest quote, look that company up on Topcashback or Quidco, they nearly all offer £40 quid upwards to get your business. I've had £60 twice this year for mine and SWMBO's cars, and will swap next year to whoever offers the most cashback for the required cover. :y
Ooops, sorry, didn't see BG's post. :-[ :y
