Title: Non Omega spares
Post by: Mister Rog on 25 July 2016, 18:37:05
Anyone used these. They say they have the part I want, but want loads of info from me first.

Just wonering if they are any good  :-\

Just in case you're wondering. I've just bought an older Volvo XC70. The leather drivers seat is a bit worn, you know where the pocket on the back of your trousers rubs the seat as you get in the car. So, just looking into the possibility of finding a spare seat somewhere. It's leather and all electric with memory, so not sure how easy it all would be   ???

You might find that the seat module(ecu) might be programmed to the chassis of the donor car... Only Volvo can reprogramme it, and you've got two hopes. And Bob is long departed.

By all means buy their seat, but don't pay too much for it and be prepared to strip it for the covers ;)

I find sometimes it's cheaper to buy a passenger one and swap the cover, sometimes they are the same cover and more plentiful therefore cheaper

Gollum  & omegod

Thanks for those. Some things I didn't think of.

It's turning out to be a great car. But, the seat niggles me  ::)
