Saw this huge bird circling around my house this afternoon and used my new camera to take a picture. Any idea what it is?

Possibly a "White Tailed Eagle" ?? .. hard to say as there is no external reference to give a size by .. but you say it was "huge" and the White tail is the largest of English Eagles.
Very rare to find one so far south however ...
head / neck looks a tad short as well .. but that might be the camera angle

Here are a couple more shots:

Hawk of some description :-\ looks proportionately small to be anything more substantial... Had a bird of prey show at the hotel, hawk looked impressive, right upto when they bought an eagle out... That bugger had an 8'+ wing span and was eyeing up all the kids watching as a potential snack ;D

May well have been flown for pest control :-\
-
Buzzard or maybe Marsh Harrier :-\

Wouldn't you rather it be done this way than use poisons or shoot them?
-
At a quick look, red tailed kite/hawk.
-
Whatever the handsome bugger is I'd be keeping my cats in the house ;D

Not juvenile at all, Varche. Rather a grown-up observation, I would say! ;)
Someone on my FB page reckons it's a sparrowhawk.
-
Looks like a hawk. They fly them down here occasionally to keep the seagulls at bay

Or even 'Are you being served' ....

It's not a red kite they have forked tails and they are red
-
A bit scruffy perhaps but it looks very like a buzzard to me.

Looks like a Buzzard.

After a quick Google, I have come to the conclusion that its some sort of bird of prey.....
Its not an Eagle (you dont find them that far south, they prefer cold climates)
It could be a Sparrow Hawk
It could also be a Harris Hawk, but they tend to have tethers attached to their legs, as they are the most common type of 'pet' bird of prey....
I initially thought it was an Osprey, but not enough white in the underwing parts....
It is more than likely a Common Buzzard...
-
Defford not a Harris Hawk... Saw one up close (5") last week. Shape is all wrong too :y
-
Looks very like the buzzards we get round here. :y

It's a buzzard.
