There's often no pump available on the side you want. There's nothing I like better than to drive up to an vacant pump, flip the filler cap and then stretch the hose round the back of the car to fill it up. There's plenty of length in the hose to do it and it makes young lads with their girls in the car look stupid. :)

I thought the days of impressing young girlie's with your hose were long gone Uncle STEMO? :-\

How can any driver not know which side their filler cap is located ? Obviously staged for the camera.

I've to think about which side it is on SWMBO's C3. It's on the other side from any other car I've had ie the passenger side

Rootes group did that.
We hired a Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme in America in the early 80s and that's where the filler cap was on that too.

I don't allow Mr Opti's to fill the car with fuel.
Derv, petrol, and even LPG all seem the same to the ladies. Bless their little cotton socks. :-* :-* :-*

Ooops....Freudian slip.
Okay, I'll come clean. I'm a black gay man who lives with a rent boy from Thailand.
We both hate girls. :)

Fords used to have filler on rear panel up to at least the MkIII Zephyr/Zodiac range-possibly even the MkIV?-Humber Hawk/Super Snipe/Imperial it was at bottom of offside rear light cluster, you unscrewed the reflector to fuel them.
-
My Mk 2 Zephyr was behind the rear no.plate think it was a 1960/1 model.

Was it really, I had a '59 model and can't remember where it was. :-[ :-[ :-[

I had a '59 Consul and after that a'64 MkIII Zephyr and their fillers were behind rear number plate.Dad had a '67 MkIV Zodiac Executive and I'm fairly sure that filler was in centre of back panel above bumper with the number plate sitting below bumper on this model.

My SIL, God rest her, lovely lady, had a mint burgandy Double Six. Lovely to look at BUT, cost her a bloody fortune to run and repair. As she hardly used it the inboard disc calipers kept seizing on. The guy who did her repairs bled her dry but she loved the thing. :(
