Hi guys.
Got the above job in tomorrow. If it's not a vw or Audi I hate swapping diesel fuel filters.
Normally if it won't start straight away after the change I hook up our vacuum/sucker to the filter return line, it pulls the diesel in and it will start. Is that the case with the above car?
Last Renault I did had the priming hand pump. But I'm presuming they've upgraded since then?
Any advice welcome.

Surprised that job needs doing already, the captur was only introduced in 2013 and with a comprehensive 4year warranty. What's the mileage on it?

I don't know sadly mate. The booking was taken by one of the other goons at the shop. It's a 14 plate I believe.
I would have thought on diesels it's prudent to change every 12 months. Though it's not a filter we change unless requested at an additional part only cost b

More likely that four years is the book time to change the damn filter.

Service intervals for all Capturs are set at 18,000 miles or 12 months. The schedule runs minor (£129), intermediate (£159), minor (£129), major (£269), so the latter is required only every four years or 48,000 miles.
All engines have a cambelt which has to be replaced every six years or 90,000 miles at a cost of £399. The coolant should be renewed every five years or 90,000 miles (at a cost of £99), while fresh brake fluid is needed every three years or 72,000 miles (at £39). From 1 January 2015, the Captur came with a package called 4+, which includes four years’ warranty and breakdown cover.

Fuel filter will be mileage dependent to so if its done say 40k miles, it will be due a change.
Common rail engines have a lift pump and a high pressure pump, normally as you turn the key the lift pump runs for 30 second or so, repeat this three times and the system should be fully purged of air. :y
The only other likely thing to be aware of is that its likely to be a git to get out, the Frogs have an uncanny knack of making bits you need to get at regularly a shit to access

Mrs Webby is north american, so that's forgivable. :D
As for goons.... We have someone who thinks that it's acceptable to not turn up to 8 disciplinary hearings, accuse the entire operation of being racist, go on holiday to Dubai whilst suspended for refusing a reasonable request, then have the gall to come back to work and expect everyone to like him >:(

Right lads first and foremost I use the word "goon" to mean the same as "moron". All in jest of course and I am not aware of it meaning anything else and didn't mean it any other way so apologies if it means something else and I'm not aware 😀
Secondly one got off scot free..... according to all parts suppliers it's a non servicable item. Good for me. I suppose this means it's part of the fuel pump in the tank then?
Finally while I got off lightly with the fuel filter God decided he wasn't going to let me get away with that. Some woman came in for a replacement speaker. In a Smart car. Entire dash out 😢😢😢 though in the end it was actually a piece of piddle 😀

It's called playing the system, first used in Brent, and Islington councils many years past,. :(
