Title: Shell diesel put to the test.
Post by: 2boxerdogs on 02 August 2016, 12:34:53
Have been in Bardsey Yorkshire for the last 10 days with the caravan, always used BP or Saintsbury's diesel in the 4x4 (Hyundai Terracan) decided to put Shell diesel in for the trip usually average 27mpg towing & touring this trip away average 32mpg so does seem to make a difference.

The best mileage I achieved was as a reckless youth.

I would 'borrow' petrol from the man next door, usually at about three in the morning.

He was a bastard and his Austin 1100 was easy meat for determined teenager to exploit. :y

Do I regret what I did?....nope. :)

No done this trip several times in the last 4 years, don't usually encounter any traffic problems & always tow at around 55-60 mph, one of my colleagues at work was singing the praises of Shell fuel so thought I'd give it a try.

I'm disappointed in you. Not for nicking it then as a youth, but for not now recognising it as theft. :( :y

Wish I'd thought of that one when I was young. Our neighbour had a V12 XJS. He'd never have missed it. ;D

12 MPG means the tank would always be empty, Kevin. :) ;)

Just borrowed it, and forgot to return it.
