Title: remote fob

replaced battery in 3 button remote fob and now fob dont work at all and does not show red light when pressing buttons,so alarm goes off when using key to unlock the door.....Question....can I use a printed circuit from another 3 button fob from another omega...thanks  :-\

You've probably broken the solder joints on the battery holder. That is repairable by someone adept with a soldering iron.

Swapping the PCB will require reprogramming the car to accept the different codes.

Once again Nick,,thank you all clear now so i will send my original one away for repair as I would more than likely ruin it all together,,thanks. :y :

Thank you for the offers...i found martin imbers email address through oof site..so seeing as the fob casing needs replacing and i noticed that one of the buttons was knackared I sent it off to him today for a complete refurb as it was the best option in this case,,thanks  :y :y

I borrow thos topic for my problem:

Originally I got 2 button fob, and ordered 3 button fob. I only wanted to change button part and attach key part with original chip to 3 button body.

Problem is that I can't sync remote locking. Do I need still reprogram the whole key to get remote work?

Yep needs reprograming as the new fob contains a different circuit board to your original one so car will not recognise the signal to work the central locking...the key part from your old one is ok bacause that contains the original chip that works the ignition.... :y :y

If you have access to a vehicle being scrapped & has working keys, you can exchange the receiver which is located behind the lower kick panel  on the drivers side.
I had the same problem, just recently scrapped a vehicle, swapped over the receiver and now working as it should.   :y

I recently acquired a remote and the box from nigel in Nottingham. but the buttons are damaged so that put that attempt to get it working on hold again.

One more question:
Is there any differences between central locking boxes between sedan and caravan models? I am going to make my caravan boot to open via remote, just wondering what I need to change. I already have 3 button fob and press key on dash. Not sure yet will I use original opening solenoid or make my own on boot opening mechanism.

I must say a great thank you to Martin Imber for repairing my remote fob,,replaced the three buttons and the case and gave me some great help on it as well as a very modest price..thank you  :y
