Title: headlamp washers
Post by: annihilator on 10 August 2016, 14:00:36
the RH washer on my pre-facelift isn't passing any water through it extends as it should do and if you remove it from the supply hose it is getting water to it.
can it be unblocked/dismantled or is it knackered?
Cheers John.

I'd try a non-destructive cleaning... soak it in a mug/jug of white distilled vinegar for a day or two, then blast some water through it. That should dissolve anything, limescale and all and theoretically clear it lovely. I did as much with my screenjets a while ago, putting vinegar in my screenwash.

Unfortunately, my missus utterly despises the smell of vinegar.  ;)

You could do the same, chuck distilled vinagar in your screenwash, but I work in grimsby, so the smell of vinegar / fish n chips shops is already pretty standard round my way, no-one noticed ;D

Know a friendly jeweller with an ultrasonic bath?

I'm surprised how much I use the £25 cheapy I bought on a whim few years ago. It's cleaned a set of E-type carbs, I regularly clean my glasses in it, and you'll be disgusted how much gunk comes out of a watch bracelet.
