Twice now the catch on my Zafira has failed to operate...
Symptoms, close the boot, and it just doesnt latch....examine and manually operate the catch and it just wont shut around the catch pin.
1st time, after a load of lock / unlock cycles, it started working again.
2nd time, took 24 hours of playing, was only when i disconnected boot lights, and was cable tieing the boot shut that it sprung back into life..
anyone heard of this / know a fix?
If I need a new lock Ill get one, just strange that its started working again.
Its possible that on both / one of the occasions something (dog bed) got in the way and stopped the boot latching, but I cant prove this at all.

So it wont latch close rather than wont open.

Exactly. Found the Bung to operate the catch if the reverse was true.
Annoyingly? Working now so hard to prove much but a fix ir workaround is probably needed

Only seen it once after a blanket got trapped between the catch and pin, from what I could tell it moved the pin down slightly.
I wound the two adjustable bungs in half a turn and it didn't do it after.
The good news is that the catch is the same on Astra's and Zaf from memory

That doesnt really apply in this instance...
The catch stopped operating completely....
With boot lid open...you can normally operate the 'claw' by pushing a key or something where the catch on the boot floor normally goes.... then use the normal button to release it...
But when this is ongoing, you can operate the claw all you want....it wont lock onto anything at all..
Just popped the cover off and someone has clearly been at the bolts that holds it in before....
Suspect its developed an intermittant fault.
