Title: Fun Buggy

Right .... when GNU is up and running in a few days ( fingers crossed ) HNO3GOH and I are building a couple of these -- after we have cleared the garage(s) of bits of Omega ( I reckon there must be two or three cars worth of bits and panels in there!!!)  :D:

HNO3's, I think, is going to be standard SVA option (road legal, but just --- I have a feeling it's going to be thrown around a few RUPPs locally  ::)  ) . Mine will be delux SVA option (bit posher, as I am intending to use it as everyday runaround). Maybe have to install a hook for the cardie  ;)

Hi Count
That looks good, what's it based on, and what engine etc.
And do you buy it as a kit.

Thanks

Mike

Hey Mike,
Yes, it is a kit. This one is based on the good old mini. Choice of the A series 850, 1098, or 1275. Will probably go for the 1098cc.

The company ( local to me) are also working on a K series based kit (metro) and a bike engine based kit.

It's amazing where these little beasties will go -- even giving 4x4's a good run for their money on the RUPPs.  And, with the mini engine at the back it's RWD  :)

Hmmm... I wonder if SWMBO will let me turn her (very poorly) 1993 Cooper into one of these instead of putting it back on the road as one of the few remaining BMW Free Coopers???? :-/ :-/ :-/

The engine would be awesome... 1280 (bored and rebuilt) cooper single point injection which is amazingly torquey!!! :y :y :y

You don't need to catch the oil -- just wipe it on the grass  ;D ;D

They are developing a Yamaha YZF-R1 powered kit -- with a little fiddling the options are limitless

Have to be careful on an incline -- would topple !!!!  Still think an inverted propane canister would suit ---- Not COP11 standard tho !!!!

Now that would go very well but i will have to wait till i get it to see what sort of size there is in the back of the buggy. I will have to for now go with a 1098 or 1275 cc engine as this is what it is set up for.

yeah only kidding, 1340 A series will be best if that's what it's designed for.
Don't think it would be to hard to redesign to fit transverse Astra Xe in though for some great RWD fun :y

I think you will find they are from a rover metro GTA but yes they do look like the ones from the senator and the carlton CDX. When i get mine i think i will go for metro turbo alloys.

And all you need is an old mini for the engine and a few other bits and the cost for the SVA kit is £1150 so for under £1500 and a few weeks of work you can have your self a real big boys toy :y :y

Because its the A series engine you take it with the sub frame from the front of the mini and put it in the back of the buggy and the guy thats builds the kits says you only need a basic mechanical knowledge to put one together. Even the holy count is going to have a go :D

Just got to work out who's is going to built first ;D
