Massive service (details here: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=137070.0 8)) and I've got an experimental cleaning agent in the coolant, but here's my question - if I run with the blowers oh 'HI' that will cycle coolant round the heater matrix and clean out gunk from it, won't it? Moving fluid from the matrix into the rest of the coolant system and to the header tank, yes? Or is the flow basically non-existent, even with the water pump whizzing round?
I have no heater issues, the heater matrix is 'fine' however I did notice sludge when changing the HBV in one of the pipes, so thought prudent to try some preventative maintenance. :)

It doesn't matter what the blowers are doing, you just need the HBV to be open so there's coolant circulation.
In warm weather the climate panel may well close the HBV, so you can ensure it's open by pulling the vacuum tube off the HBV and blocking the end of the tube.

You star!
Thanks Kevin!

You could also run around with the heater temperature on Hi and the fan on 1 with the windows open ::)

Done that, on the drive home last night, just wondering if there was another option. It was ok in the cool night air, but this dinner time went for a spin and after she'd been parked in the sun all morning, with the heater on HI, the stones stuck in my shoes were starting to melt ;D

;D
Close all the front vents and open all four windows... all the heat will be sent to the back of the car and airflow will do the rest :y
