Title: Cameron resigns as MP
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 12 September 2016, 18:58:31
So David Cameron is standing down as an MP and will doubtless go down in history as the man who took us out of the EU!  ;D

He clearly dosn't want to do a 'Ted Heath' and I'm sure he'll find consolation in various boardrooms where he'll be paid vast sums for being a part timer director....  ::)

Maybe in time they'll put a statue up for him!  :)

That would not be decent to have a statue of an a***hole in public ;D

Lets hope he doesn't take up gambling as a hobby as he does not have a good track record at all.

He won two out of three.  :D  :)

One he needed Clegg as his lap dog. Does that really count?

Good riddance.  A useless waste of fresh air.  :)

Sadly, the only viable PM at the time, given the options on offer. NOT that that is any compliment!

He'll get his knighthood, in couple of years, and all the money his father put into hiding for him, will be available to him, and Samantha isn't short of a few million.

Agreed. The mistake was the Tories choosing him as leader in the first place.
In fact, he was the best PM since Thatcher, but that's in no way a compliment either. Just a comment on how utterly dire the others were.

I'm racking my brains back that far trying to think if they had anyone more electable at the time.

His opponent was David Davis. Cameron was seen as a Tory version of Blair, so was chosen to go up against him, but Blair was soon gone and Cameron was a man out of his time. His chosen role had vanished before him.
I have always had a lot of time for Davis, but whether he would have beaten Labour and been a successful PM, we will never know.

I meant the referenda that he gambled on.  He won the AV referendum in 2011, just scraped a win in the Scottish referendum in 2014 and lost the EU referendum this year.  :)

If you add in General Elections you could say he won four out of five, even if he needed Cleggs help in 2010.  ;)

Yup, he works his "nads" off around here for pretty much anybody who askes him to do anything.
Very approachable by all accounts.
