Congratulations Dr Psychnurse.
Now you too will be the life and soul of parties; with allcomers wanting to discuss their little medical problems... ;D ;D ;D
My ex was a PhD and she got it all the time - makes no difference that she was a scientist, not MD.
One benefit though, is the respect you get from waiters etc if you use it as your title on credit/debit cards.

Well done and congratulations -- now you and Debs can gang up on us "non-fellows" :P

Many congratulations on the PhD. Are you sure you want to convert to the MD path? The post-graduation 2-year junior hospital doctor stint is ghastly. Can you get any exemptions from that?
But then, I suppose what you're doing now can't be much different from that, so you'll probably cope. :)

Got a 9 month offer! ;) ;) By my current Uni :y :y
No, I do not want to become a dotor.... but..... I feel it needs somebody to challege the bar stewards... Ive done it for long enough in my nurse role.
Was always told I was stupid... So its good to try and do well.. I was adopted at a young age which I am proud of as my 'biological' family seemed to be a 'dead loss' :-/
But my twin brother who lives in Israel is also a Doctor :y

Mate, in your place I would go for it ----- if I could multiply my brain cell ( singular).
Not only the satisfaction of getting it done ---- but a nose up to those that thought you couldn't

I can't do that either, and I also couldn't do what you do, nor could I study in my spare time and get a doctorate.
I'd be lucky to get a pass in anything at GCSE level these days. :(

We all have different talents, different strengths and weaknesses ---- and we are all special in our own way.
When we are born we are wet, naked, cold and hungry. Then we get slapped on the arse ----- from then on it's downhill all the way ;)
And remember:
If at first you don't succeed -- don't try skydiving :y
