Title: Been listening to some of Labours grand plans
Post by: STEMO on 26 September 2016, 18:06:38
The minimum wage will go up to at least £10ph by 2020. That will be a neat trick if there isn't an election until 2020.
Fracking will be banned to stop global warming by fossil fuels. I see...you're not going to open up all those northern coal mines after all then?

Watch this space  ;D

I never believe a word from any of 'em

Best line from any film, and so very true

The Hunt For Red Oktober

"Listen, I'm a politician, which means I'm a cheat and a liar, and when I'm not kissing babies I'm stealing their lollipops. But it also means I keep my options open. "

Minimum wage goes up to £10 p.h. unemployment goes up by 500,000.  ::)
Ban fracking - presumably future energy needs to be sourced from cowfarts, because all those fickin windmills aint gonna do it.
They are living in Corbyn cuckoo land. The upside is that they wont win an election in the foreseeable future.  :)

America. We are going to suck their fracking fields dry first. Save ours for later when the price goes up. First tanker was in Scotland yesterday ;D

He seems to be stuck in the 60s, was talking about opening branch lines so people could get about by train!

It strikes me that the only thing corbyn is likely to deliver come 2020 is another 5 years of a Tory government.  ::)

Funnily enough though, I do agree with their stance on the minimum wage. Over the past 20 years or so, the percentage of company gross profit (so their revenue, less the cost of the goods sold)  that goes to shareholders has doubled, while wage growth has been suppressed. Combine that with the introduction of tax credits and what you have is the tax payer (albeit indirectly) paying shareholder dividends.

He seems to be stuck in the 60s

Which I guess explains why I know 17-19 year olds who talk about him like the second coming of Jesus.. they're not old enough to remember the 60s or 70s. (Might also have something to do with their parental influences too, I suppose)

Corbyn will never be PM......and I think it is for the best.

However, socialism is not a dirty word. Broadly speaking it means to share.....to be inclusive. To be social.

Capitalism has more of a 'f*ck you' image. I'm doing fine so f*ck you pal. Capitalism has nothing to do with sharing.

The socialist part of me would share my sweets with the kids at school. I expected nothing in return. :)

The capitalist part of me meant I would share my sweets with the girls provided they dropped their knickers. :)

I think we should share it. I will have it every spring / summer. You can have it every autumn / winter. That would be very social.  :y

A bit of black is good.

Sadly, one Diane Abbott is about the size of four black women.
