Title: Pulling to the right when braking
Post by: Bojan on 29 September 2016, 10:20:51
Just to share this one with all.

Some time ago ma car started pulling to the right on moderate braking. It would start pulling to the right, while the steering wheel would rotate some 10-20°to the left (anticlock-wise). Only on moderate braking. On light or hard, all fine.

Now everybody, including me, would say -> front wishbone bushings. This was my first thought.

However, I wasn't quite sure - it developed this overnight (bushings don't deterorate like this usually), it didn't do that on hard braking, and after several days it just went back to working fine.
Based on all this, I've started suspecting front brakes.

Few days ago, I've did discs+pads on front brakes, and, as suspected, left caliper slider siezed due to the corrosion. This caused pulling to the right. Now repaired, and it brakes straigt.

The OEM bushes are filled with dampening oil iirc.
If this leaks, it will just collapse and give this affect.
As will the rear wishbone bush as it starts to pull away from its mount under braking  ;)
