Title: Omega 2,5td running issues
Post by: Jonne97 on 01 October 2016, 21:55:51
Hello! I have an 1998 Omega 2,5td manual. it started with fuel delivery problems, so i changed the fuel filter and the rear fuel pump. After i did that it ran ok, but it started to get the same problems after a few days. Now it wont start at all, it seems to me that the engine gets no fuel at all. I can hear the rear pump starting when i turn on the ignition, and the filter is brand new. If it was air in system it would at least try to start at some point, but it ends up whit a flat battery and no reacton at all.
Does annyone know what might be wrong?

It sounds like fuel starvation somewhere. Have you checked for fuel delivery at the injectors?

Being a diesel, if there is air in there, you WILL have to bleed it. The 2.5TD is not self bleeding.

Ensure fuel filter canister is full of fuel.  With an assistant trying to start, crack loose the nut holding fuel pipe to injector, and wait until you get a good fountain of fuel. Then move on to next injector.

Don't crank for more than 5 or 6 seconds at a time, and give starter chance to cool down between each one.
