Title: Recommended place for wheel alignment
Post by: kev h on 27 July 2008, 22:06:03
Can anyone recommend a garage etc in the Nottingham / Derby area that can properly align my front wheels?

Cheers, Kev

If the symptoms are excessive tyre wear, particularly on the shoulders, then you need full geometry down, not simple tracking/4 wheel alignment/etc.

The recommended place, although a trek, is www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk

Omega can be a bugger to do well, as the factory spec is so wide, and as suspension ages, becomes too extreme - its not enough to get it 'in the green'

.. probably worth checking your wishbones first - especially if making a long trip.   I think all but 2 out of about 15 cars there this weekend had excessively worn bushes (and one of those 2 had a broken spring) :(

Check your wishbones and then apy a visit to Fleet Fit Tyres in Loughborough and ask him to set the camber to.

There are two places in Nottingham and both are shite (little tennis street near the county ground and Basford)!
