last Thursday I had a sister call me. she told me she had some thing to tell me but her words at first scared me. she said she didn't know how to start telling me her news. somebody had been trying to contact via face book. the story went do I remember an ex girlfriend & as soon as my sister mentioned her name I guessed where the conversation was going. I now have a daughter who his well into her 40,s. we started at first with texts then a conversation. her natural mum always told her another guy was her father but the two weeks or so ago let her know I was her dad. I live in York & she is Portsmouth way. All my family are great about it , my four lads are looking forward to having a sister. I too are happy about it but at nearly 71 its a little life changing. I have received photos & its like looking at a female twin to one of my lads . chuffed to bits :y :y ps we are meeting up next weekend

Nice, and great for both.
But are you now married ? How does current wife/partner deal with this ?

I bet a shiver went down Lord Opti's spine when he read Ray's story! ;D
Congratulations on the new addition to your family Ray! :y

Good grief !!!! What a message to receive. Being of your age, I can't say how I would have felt. But good luck to you, especially as you are chuffed with the revelation, and your family are chuffed too. Have a great meeting and future ;) :y

Just seen this .......
If you and your lads are happy then I'm over the moon for you all :)
But a word of advise if I may ........
Softly softly does it for everybody's sake ;)

I have been in a similar situation I lost contact with my daughter when she was 3 years old she got in contact with me when she was 17/18 it was a very difficult exciting and emotional experience for us both
She is now 26 and I have a 7 year old grandaughter it has not been easy and we are not as close as we could be it is hard work maybe it is the distance we live apart
So good luck with yours and don't expect too much in one go as Tigers says softly softly

well we finally met , she drove up from the south coast to York last Friday stayed whilst sunday. it really was as if we had known each other all our lives. everything went so naturally. the family resemblance is unbelievable, she could almost be a twin to one of my sons. she is always having banter with my lads now on a chat-site & its been good.
