He tried to saw his hand off, but the device wasn't powerful enough to tackle the bone ;)

It is but a flesh wound......all be it one that means I don't have full feeling in the tip of my thumb at the moment.
One of those moments where you:
1) Is it pulsing - No so artery is good.
2) Do I have four axis of movement in my thumb - Yes so tendons are good
3) Can I fix it with duck tape...........hmmm, can see the bone so maybe not

Didn't a hurt a bit, a nice shiny new super sharp saw, the biggest frustration was the tosser time wasters in A&E which included:
1) A guy with a head ache......basically was willing to wait for 3 hours so as to avoid paying 29p for a packet of paracetamol
2) A girl who had cut her finger, they made a specific point of coming out after 2.5 hours, asking her to raise her hand in the air and then applied a plaster before sending her on her way
3) And my favourite, guy of African decent who had stomach pains, after about an hour he came back and said to his girl friend 'just had a good shit and feel much better' so he left ;D :y
Its also not really stopped me doing anything.....but don't tell the quack that.

I've got a scar in a similar place where a saw slipped and I ended up in A&E. Join the club! :y

Ive got scars all over the place, from head to toe. I was very accident prone when I was younger. I wont boast that I seem to have grown out of it, as last time I did that I fell over a dining chair, headbutted a wall and knocked myself out cold, hit the floor like a sack of spuds, chin first, and broke my jawbone clean through, just below my right ear. ::) ;D

I have a similar wound on my right hand after tripping over and putting my hand through a empty bottle while shitfaced at Binbrook during the 80's ::)
Got back to the room and with the knowledge that if I went to the Medical Centre, i'd probably get done for been drunken and disorderly and with various first aid courses flooding through my alcohol fuelled brain I went about patching myself up ::)
First I spent some time picking the glass out with my fingers / teeth then came the brain wave ::)
I now have to sterilise the wound so staggered around the room looking for something to do it with.
Couldn't find any TCP or alcohol so with me been even more stupid then I look, I opened up my new bottle of Blue Stratos aftershave and poured it into the open cut ::)
Well women say child birth is painful but that can be nothing like that moment because that REALY hurt :'( :'(

That's what I would class as an 'inconvenient ' cut. Not deep enough to make you think there's something serious going on, but serious enough to make you realise that, if you try to finish what you were doing, you're gonna make a right mess.

My Dad has a similar scar but on the other side of his hand - I forget the circumstances now but he also patched himself up.. mostly because he was the medic on deployment and there was nobody else around to do it! ;D
