I had an Omega estate and took out the Parrot Bluetooth that was working and plugged into this connecting socket. The socket was up behind the glove box. See links of the socket below.

Was this socket only in the CDX models and up or was it in the CD models as well?
I haven't taken the glove box out yet but I have had a torch and mirror up behind the glove box and I don't see any sign of it.
Thanks

Depends, what head unit was in the CDX?
Should be present on all facelifts but might be taped into the cable tray that runs across the top of the glovebox ;)
Glovebox out if not obvious :y

I can't remember, but I think it was just the standard face lift one like in mine. Glove box out it is then.
Thanks Al. :y

Pretty sure all facelift's have the pre-wiring (Well I know, Elites and CD's do so that nearly covers both ends of the spectrum!).
I've rarely been able to get to the plug if it's not previously been used, my hands and wrists just can't get it so I always take the glovebox out.

Thanks for the info.
I tried to get my hand up behind the glove box to reach it and it is to tight. Glove box out today if I have time.

Taken the glove box out and found the socket. :y
The wire colours are different but with the number of wires are correct. I connected the Parrot to the socket and it lit up and connected to my mobile and I was able to dial out.
Problem is there is no phone sound through the speakers and it doesn't mute the radio speakers when I dial out or receive a call.
I have an after market Alpine CDA-9854R head unit.
Any ideas why there is no phone audio through the speakers?
It was working 100% before taking it out of the Omega estate but that did have the original head unit.
Thanks

Are there any Omega fl head units that will fit and have the same tight base sound as the Alpine I'm using?

Sorry if I sound dense but I've just returnd to the world of Omegas from an S-Type oil burner. This socket that you're talking about, does this allow connection of any of the Parrot interfaces and in particular the MKi9200?

Parrot car kits are a bit different to more standard kits (Bury, Nokia etc) as they tend to intercept the front speaker feeds whereas the pre-wiring socket built into the car provides the standard +12v, 0v, mute, mic (cable runs up into courtesy lamp for this) and mono input to HU.

I took out a working CK3100 that was plugged into that socket. I plugged it into mine and it connected to my phone and all worked except there was no sound through the speaker and it didn't mute through the stereo. I think this is down to not having a factory fitted head unit and using an after market one.
I can't find any wire diagrams for my CK3100 or I would have wired it into my sons car for him. Shame really.
Taking yours from another make of car, the plugs pine configuration may be different.
I've seen photo's of the Parrot plug and the wire colours for each unit looked different. So maybe each installer suites themselves to what colour to use. I don't know for sure but that is what it looked like to me.
Any one else shed some light on this?
Thanks
