Thanks Nick. Any particular areas? Nothing mechanical? The reviews seem pretty positive, honest john and the like don't really list any major faults.

Might be lucky then, certainly by the time they reach 9/10 they start to get quite scabby underneath :(

Had a a 2002 626 from new kept it 8 years & really looked after it , wheel arches were just starting to bubble when I got rid of it in 2010  for the Omega 2.6, saw it 2 years ago in town a total heap of rust. When I had my 4x4 steam cleaned & undersealed earlier this year at Rustbusters in Spalding I asked in their opinion which cars were the worst for rust problems , the answer was Land Rovers & Mazdas so beware, I personally would never have one again.

I suggest you keep the Astra for  dull  mundane chores like shopping and taking the whippet for a walk. Your wife car sell her 'little Frenchie'.

Then treat yourself and your good lady to a totally impractical two seat sports car. Something that will make you both smile.

My charge for this sage advice is a very reasonable £100. :)
