Title: Iphone 5 wierdness
Post by: Varche on 25 October 2016, 10:47:03
Mrs V has iphone 5 .

We have just found out it is doing wierd things. Here are some examples.

No one was touching the phone and it rang a relative in Oz this morning. We were blisfully unaware. Then it straight after rang her husbands phone.

Three days ago a text we sent to social services went to a friend down the road.

We have no idea how many other times this has happened as people wont necessarily be telling us. We are particularly bothered about texts going to wrong people and now realise when social services say they never got a text they are telling the truth.

Is this something like a virus? If so how do you sort it?

Are you on iOS10 ?

Maybe it's too much for it to handle if it is, If not I'm not sure tbh  :-\

Might be worth contacting Apple they are usually very helpful.  :y

Join the club, mine has been doing this on and off since I got it (free hand-me-up from daughter). Whenever I tell her about it, she tells me its my fault. Only yesterday it rang a friends phone despite being switched off at the time. >:(

So what is the explanation.?

I am beginning to think factory reset is the answer.

Software is up to date. Ios 9.3.5 . I presume it wont take later versions.

Phone isnt jail broken, isnt loaded with apps.

The answer is to get a different phone, I'm waiting for mine to blow up or get lost, so that I can get an Android. :y
