Wifey's Fiesta is getting long in the tooth and I'm able to get some really decent 2 yr lease deals through my new employer so have decided to get her a brand new VW Golf Tsi Bluemotion....with a 1.0 litre, 3 cylinder petrol engine :o.....it does have a turbo though and put's out a heady 115 bhp. Reviews are surprisingly good for it :)
It was a toss up between this and an Audi A1 TFSI sportline which looks great but is too small to be practical.
Start the p*ss taking now please chaps ;D

All those silly little 1l turbo engines are nippy enough around town - but economy gets hit very hard if driven hard.
Its once you leave town they suffer. Lack of grunt at open road speeds mean you're always thrashing it, and thrashed turbocharged petrols yield poor MPG

I would expect nothing less from VW ;D

Fords are the same: 1.0l Fiestas are OK, Focus are as a town car, but Mondeos??

Indeed... smacks of 'Oops, we have just blown twenty billion quid on making an engine that produces three hundred horsepower and can fit in a box file... let's put it in every platform we can think of before anyone notices' :D

unfortunately I had the displeasure of driving a 1.0litre focus for a while as a loan car....economical on fuel it was not...it was an ST look a like but sounded like an indesit washing machine ???

Blue motion, is a diesel, the blue motion is referring to adblue, which helps reduce nox.
I may be wrong.

You...wrong....surely not? ;D

Doesn't bluemotion just mean that it stalls at every T junction (like my Morris Ital used to) to save fuel?
